Photography: The Power of Observation
As a longtime resident in Washington, DC, I have had a front seat to major national events and have had access to all of the arts and culture that the city has to offer. My photography is a reflection of the diversity of human experiences and opinions. My art philosophy is to capture the moment - unadulterated. Occasionally, I may change lighting and other minor features from the original. My artistic expression can serve any number of purposes: highlighting environmental harm for research, honoring the external human spirit, capturing a historical event or movement, etc. It can also not have any purpose at all. I may snap a photo because of good light, a feel-good moment, etc. The overriding essence of my work is the people in all of their humanity - suffering, optimism, and striving.
